Flexo printing is a form of rotary web letterpress which combines features of both the letterpress and rotogravure printing. It uses relief plates made of rubber or photopolymer and a fast-drying, low viscosity solvent, water or alcohol based inks which are fed from an anilox roll. The flexible plates are then mounted onto the printing cylinder with a double sided sticky tape and the plates pressed against the substrate with the impression cylinder adding adequate pressure to ensure quality printing.
This form of printing is fast, economical and is widely used in the label industry. |

Refers to the use of a die to cut the shape of the label. Die cut labels have rounded corners and a small space between labels (usually 1/8"), making them ideal for automatic label application equipment. We have thousands of dies on hand, so its likely we will have the size and shape of die needed. If a client requires a specific label size and/or a special shape not already in our die inventory, we will make a new die as required. There is additional cost for new dies.
A Butt Cut label is a square or rectangle shaped cut label with no space in between. Butt cut labels do not dispense off of applicators. |

A color matching system used by the printing industry to print spot colors. Most applications that support color printing allow you to specify colors by indicating the Pantone name or number. This assures that you get the right color when the file is printed, even though the color may not look right when displayed on your monitor.
PMS works well for spot colors but not for process colors, which are generally specified using the CMYK color model. |

Unwind direction is the way the labels comes off the roll. If you are applying your labels manually than most times it will not matter but if you are applying your labels automatically you want the label coming off the roll the correct way or it will end up upside down or backwards on your product. See unwind chart under services. |
